Go out for the Angkor temple expedition to the top highlights. Listed in the itinerary are Prasat Kravan that is reputable for the unmatched interior brick sculptures, the Srah Srang (called “The Royal Baths”). Also, it’s exciting to view the four concentric walls of Banteay Kdei temple. Next, the must-see is Ta Prohm which was built in the late 12th century in the mysterious Bayon style, and once filmed in the “Tomb Raider” movie.

The next highlight to please the eyes is Neak Pean which is a religious fountain erected in the midpoint of the pool. This reflects the paradisiac Himalayan mountain-lake belief. Going on, you will meet Preah Khan temple built by King Jayavarman VII during the 12th century. The ancient complex is somehow covered with trees and vegetation that give it a sense of mystery.

You will first visit Angkor Thom, the last royal capital of the Khmer empire, built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. As the tourists’ main entrance, the South Gate will surprise you at numerous gigantic statues of gods and demons. What’s more, view the central corner of the old capital, and you will notice the Bayon Temple that preserves around 54 towers carved with more than 200 stone faces of Avalokitesvara (Bodhisattva of Compassion). Spend the next hours in the Phimeanakas temple, Royal Enclosure, Elephants Terrace, and Terrace of the Leper King.

After lunch, you will be happy to visit Cambodia’s treasure: Angkor Wat. The breakfast time at the hotel will be followed by the car transfer to Phnom Kulen (Mountain of the Lychees). The destination is sacred and richly featured with the Grand Buddha statue, the inexplicable River of Thousand Lingas, and the Waterfalls at the top of the mountain. Take time worshipping, sightseeing, and taking pictures of the top attractions.

On the drive back to Siem Reap, take a pleasant stop at Banteay Srey (also named Citadel of Women or Citadel of Beauty due to the intricacy and elegance of the bas relief carvings. Also, spend some minutes to explore the forgotten Hindu temple of Banteay Samre.

Enjoy breakfast served at the hotel. Then, have fun with the morning boat ride on the beautiful Tonle Sap Lake at Kampong Phluk Village. Tonle Sap is the biggest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia that promises the delightful voyage. Together with the floating houses, you can expect to meet the floating school or floating police station.

After lunch, you will have more opportunities to understand the Khmer people in their off-the-beaten-track village. This half-day culture tour will show you the remote trails of rice fields, palm trees, antique ruins, and ox carts. Furthermore, expect a visit to a local family’s house.
