DAY 01: ARRIVAL – PHNOM PENH (meals on your own expense)

Welcome you to Phnom Penh; our staff will be at the airport to transfer you to the hotel to do the check-in. After lunch, start the exciting city tour around the historical attractions of Royal Palace (in which the Cambodian royal family resides) and National Museum (where exhibits the classical collections of the Khmer art). When it comes to dinner time, let’s eat at a local restaurant of charity that also shelters and gives education to the former children of the street. Enjoy the Khmer-style supper and have a beautiful nightlife. End the first-day tour with happy thoughts!

DAY 02: PHNOM PENH CITY TOUR (B)

Get ready for a cyclo tour around the main tourist attractions. You will first arrive at Wat Phnom for a glimpse of the classical Khmer architecture and religious statues. The cyclo will continue along the riverbanks and pass by the Royal Palace. Have lunch at your own expense.

The afternoon hours will be spent to study Cambodia history. You’ll be guided to Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, which was a school ruled by the Khmer Rouge and used as an evil prison (“S-21”). Furthermore, you can head to the Russian market for a new look. Later, enjoy the ride along the spectacular river and watch some life activities of the Khmer residents.

DAY 03: PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG CHAM – KRATIE (B)

Take a morning departure to Kampong Cham city, which is famous for French-colonial buildings. It must be a very-scenic drive past the placid countryside, the rice paddies, plantation of cashew, and local villages. Travel around the center of the city, and then explore Wat Nokor – the 11th-century Buddhist shrine built of sandstone. Around noon, you will arrive at the town of Kratie and have free time at leisure. Next, when it comes to the sunset time, marvel at the picturesque vista of the Mekong River while you are savoring a cold drink. Know what? Kratie is renowned for the wonderful twilight.

DAY 04: KRATIE CITY TOUR (B/L)

Start the day by visiting a morning market and watching activities of the local merchants and buyers. Go for a tour around the rural landscape. In the afternoon, the boat trip might enable you to meet the rare Irrawaddy dolphins. Prepare your cameras to capture their cute moments. Going on, you will arrive at Sambo village, and then do homage to the Wat Sor Sor Mouy Roy. Have lunch at Sambo. After that, proceed to the beautiful Koh Trong Island and mingle with the villagers. There will be time for a bicycle ride around the island, a visit to Wat Island to join the “re-cultivation forest project”. Interestingly, discover a Vietnamese floating village. Cruise back to Kratie by boat.

DAY 05: KRATIE – KAMPONG THOM (B)

Let’s drive to Kampong Thom. You will meet the lush grassland which is also home to the local waterfowls. Then, challenge yourself by ascending 1.000 steps toward Phnom San Tuk Mountain for the amazing panorama of the serene countryside. On the peak of the mountain, do homage to the small pagoda, which also offers an impressive view to feast all eyes. After hours on the mountain, climb down and enjoy each scene that you pass by. The drive will continue toward Kampong Thom. Upon your arrival, have free time at leisure.

DAY 06: KAMPONG THOM – SIEM REAP (B/L)

Take a morning transfer to the UNESCO-listed Sambor Prei Kuk, around 30km north of Kampong Thom. It is an archaeological site including many untouched temples in the jungles. The complex could be dated back to the Pre-Angkorian period. So, ride a bicycle or walk around the ruins to admire the brick architecture and pristine Nature which are well-balanced. Photography opportunities are infinite. Then, have lunch next to the temples. Leaving the ancient clusters of temples, the drive will continue to Siem Reap. Upon your arrival, enjoy the rest of the day freely after completing the hotel check-in.

DAY 07: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT TOURS (B)

As “the early bird catches the worm”, head to the celebrated Angkor Wat early to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise, admire the classical Khmer architecture and carving arts in each detail, prior to other crowds. Next, move to the campaign of the Western Baray area in which you can watch the local activities. Get a transfer to Silk Farm of Angkor for an overview of the silk production and silkworms’ life cycle. Drive back to Siem Reap for a nap. In the afternoon, the target should be the 12th-century Ta Prohm temple which was chosen to film “Tomb Raider” due to its mysterious and ancient look.

DAY 08: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR TEMPLE TOUR (B)

Invest the morning in the praiseworthy Angkor Thom – the last royal capital city of the Khmer Empire (under the reign of Jayavarman VII). Inside the 8m-high wall are the ancient architecture and the sacred giant statues for later generations to study. Also included in the list is the Bayon Temple that owns the impressive bas-relief galleries. In the afternoon, you will move to Tonle Sap – the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, in which it’s great to observe the locals’ floating houses and fishing activities. Enjoy the boat ride to Kampong Phluk village and sightseeing of the flooded forests, floating constructions, etc. (NOTE: the boat trip is only valid from June to March due to water level. Otherwise, an alternative option is to get to the floating Chong Kneas village).

DAY 09: SIEM REAP – BENG MEALEA – BANTEAY SREY (B/L)

Experience the 1-hour drive to Beng Mealea. Getting there, you’ll be glad to start a short trek across the jungle to unveil the hidden Beng Mealea temple. Furthermore, appreciate the discovery of the gorgeous temple of Banteay Srey (The Citadel of Women) that owns the intricate carvings and beautiful sandstone construction that are all photogenic. Then, spend the afternoon hours to visit the local community and see how they make rice paper. Take your opportunities to save the palm wine as well as the palm sugar produced by the villagers.

DAY 10: SIEM REAP–BATTAMBANG (B/L)

Travel from Siem Reap to Battambang for the joined boat trip. (NOTE: Take road transport from January to June). While you are on a boat across the Tonle Sap Lake, take time contemplating the rich ecosystem and feeling the locals’ life activities and rhythm. You are likely to arrive at Battambang around afternoon. The town is proud of the French-colonial buildings that remain well-preserved. What’s more, find joy in roaming around the placid and charming town as the rest of the day is your free time.

DAY 11: BATTAMBANG CITY TOUR (B)

The breakfast time will be followed by the transfer to Phnom Sampeau or the “Killing Caves” that witnessed the crime of the Khmer Rouge that killed victims on the top of the cave. The destination owns the surprising serenity. Next, travel to the “Bamboo Train” (NOTE: if this service is unavailable, another sightseeing tour will be organized). After that, pay a visit to the 11th-century Wat Banan pagoda located on the top of the mountain amid the fertile rice paddies and marvelous lotus ponds. Of course, the bird’s-eye panorama is breathtaking. Then, the afternoon will be about visiting the cultural villages and learning Cambodian specialties such as “prahoc” (fermented fish sauce), “grolan” (glutinous rice roasted in bamboo joints). Alternatively, you can get to the School of Music, Visual & Performing Phare Ponleu Selpak or the handicraft center.

DAY 12: BATTAMBANG – KAMPONG CHHNANG – OUDONG – PHNOM PENH (B/L/D)

Travel from Battambang to Kampong Chhnang, whose Khmer name means “port of pottery.” Next, move to Oudong and have fun by taking an ox-cart ride around the city. You can also climb to the peak of the Oudong Mountain for the amazing vista of the valleys. Meanwhile, listen to the guide’s speeches about the local history, culture, and religion. In the afternoon, the drive will continue its way to Phnom Penh and have a nice stop at Koh Chen (The Village of Silver) for you to examine the locals’ silver handicrafts. Upon your arrival at Phnom Penh, savor every second of the last night there. A traditional Khmer farewell dinner will be cooked for you.

DAY 13: PHNOM PENH – DEPARTURE (B)
